$50 bill value questions
How much is a 1934 fifty dollar bill worth?
A circulated 1934 $50 Federal Reserve Note usually sells for $55–$80, uncirculated $150 or more. Star notes are scarce and bring much more.
Is an old $50 bill still worth fifty dollars?
At least. Every US banknote is still legal tender at face value, so an old $50 can never be worth less than $50 - and many pre-1950 notes sell to collectors for more.
Is my bill worth more because of its serial number?
Sometimes. A star (★) after the serial number marks a replacement note, and short star-note print runs sell for well above face. Collectors also pay premiums for “fancy” serials: very low numbers (00000001–00000100), solids (77777777), ladders (12345678), radars (12344321) and repeaters (12341234). An ordinary serial on a modern bill adds nothing.
